Predecessor (Xbox One/Series X/PS4/PS5) – Senior Gameplay Programmer

Predecessor is a spiritual successor to the Paragon MOBA project released by Epic Games. Paragon was shut down and the assets were made public when Fortnite started picking up steam. Omeda Studios picked up these assets and are remaking the game with their own twist and a strong community behind the project.

My work on this project included:

  • Working in GAS (Gameplay Ability System for UE4)
  • Refactoring the projectile system to use network prediction for improved gameplay experience
  • Implement two heroes – Kallari and The Fey
  • Memory management and loading screens
  • Console development on current and previous Xbox and Playstation hardware (Set up/optimise/controller support)
  • Support the teams transition to a bigger team and better processes
  • Easy Anti-Cheat integration
  • Automated error reporting with Backtrace

About Me

I’ve worked in AAA and indie teams as both full time and freelance positions. I’m a huge fan of multiplayer and RPG games so if you’ve got a project with either of those boxes ticked, I’d love to hear more!
